I mentioned the other week that I had been making a quilt, but couldn't show it yet, as it was a gift for someone special, my Mum. Well here is a picture of the finished quilt, that I hand delivered to her this last week.

I hope that it keeps her legs warm, as it isn't easy for her to walk a lot these days. My DD helped me choose the fabric. It was a layer cake by Moda called Strawberry Fields, that was out last year and I really loved the collection (still have a jelly roll to use up!!) DD said that it was Grandma's colours. The free motion quilting was of hearts and loops and in this particular quilt, I decided that it didn't need a border, I went straight to binding.
Mum was very pleased to receive the gift.

  1. Love the colours Helen! Beautiful work! Any chance of bringing the leftover jelly roll to class on Sat. 28th? Just want to have a closer look at the fabrics..if possible! tks

    1. Will try and remember to bring the Jelly Roll on the 28th April for you. Bjs
